AMETHI (UP), Aug 29 (PTI) Two termed MLA from Tiloi in Amethi district Dr. Muslim passed away last night after prolonged illnesses, family sources said.
He was under treatment in a private hospital at Lucknow while the last breath came in.
He will be cremated at Raebareli where he lived after his entry into active politics.
According to details available Dr. Muslim was first time elected to state assembly on Samajvadi party ticket in 1996 from Tiloi but later he joined Congress and recorded second time victory from same assembly segment.
In last assembly election his son Mohammad Saud was a BSP candidate from Tiloi but lost and BJP nominee MS Singh was winner.
Eventually in last parliamentary polls Dr. Muslim joined saffron party after being impressed by charismatic personality of prime minister Narendra Modi as one of his supporter not to be named said.
People from different walks of life have expressed condolences after his demise.
